Introductie
- Deze studie identificeert risicofactoren voor fatale en niet-fatale kindermishandeling in gezinnen die bekend zijn bij CPS.
- IPV = intiem partnergeweld.
Methode
- 234 casuskinderen en 468 controle over een periode van 13 jaar.
Discussie
- Case-kinderen waren vaker mannelijk dan controle-kinderen.
- Moederlijke verzorgers van casuskinderen waren significant jonger dan die van controlekinderen
- Aanzienlijk meer controleverzorgers waren betrokken bij HG dan mantelzorgers
- Risicofactoren voor de verzorger van de moeder
- Mannelijk kind geslacht
- Scoring 'matig of hoog risico' op SDM-risicobeoordeling
- Meer dan 3 kinderen jonger dan 5 jaar in huis hebben
- Risico voor niet-moederlijke verzorger
- Jongere leeftijd verzorger
- Meer dan 3 kinderen jonger dan 5 jaar in huis hebben
- Minstens één biologisch kind dat niet bij een van beide ouders woont
- Verminder het risico op mishandeling
- Betrokkenheid van moeder bij partnergeweld (zowel verzorger van moeder als niet-moeder)
- De reactie van het systeem op IPV kan de dader effectief verwijderen door arrestatie of een straatverbod of kan het risico verkleinen door deelname aan afleidingsprogramma's verplicht te stellen of door kinderen in beschermende hechtenis te plaatsen. Deze reacties kunnen kinderen beschermen tegen ernstige gevolgen van mishandeling.

- Betrokkenheid van moeder bij partnergeweld (zowel verzorger van moeder als niet-moeder)
