BPOP Hoorcollege 3 - Beroepsethiek
Ethiek is een tak van de filosofie die zich bezighoudt met de kritische bezinning over het juist handelen.
Waarde: ideaal dat wezenlijk is voor de kwaliteit van leven: wat is belangrijk? algemeen
Norm: op waarde gebaseerde handelingsvoorschrift: wat moet ik doen? voorschrijvend
Deugd: goede eigenschap die de handelwijze van de mens bepaalt
Descriptieve ethiek = beschrijvende ethiek
Prescriptieve of normatieve ethiek = voorschrijvende ethiek
Meta-ethiek: fundamentele morele vraagstukken bestuderen
Deugdethiek: hoe moet ik als mens/professional goed leven? Je kijkt naar het karakter en motieven van de handelende persoon
Gevolgenethiek: beoordeling van welke handeling moreel juist is door naar het doel of de gevolgen van de handeling te kijken. Hier is veel kritiek op:
- Het is vaak moeilijk om de gevolgen van een handeling te overzien
- Iemand kijkt niet alleen naar eigen belang, maar naar voor- en nadelen van alle betrokkenen
- Eigen belang wordt afgekeurd
- Geen absolute grenzen
- Je houdt geen rekening met individuele rechten van mensen
Deon(plicht)tologische of beginsel/plichtethiek: je kijkt alleen naar welke handeling moreel juist is– ongeacht de feitelijke gevolgen
Het verschil tussen deontologische en gevolgenethiek is dat bij deontologische ethiek de morele regels onafhankelijk moeten zijn van de doelen, terwijl bij gevolgenethiek je kijkt naar maximaal genot.
Bij deontologisch kijk je meer naar het verleden: heb je een belofte gegeven, dan hoor je die ongeacht je doel ook waar te maken. Kritiek hierop is dat er weinig flexibiliteit of ruimte voor uitzonderingen is.
Bij het definiëren van wat normaal is moet je denken aan diversiteit (waar je opgroeit bepaalt mede normen en waarden) vs universalisme (waar je opgroeit bepaalt ook de wijze waarop symptomen en gedrag zich uiten, hier zijn de criteria voor classificatie op gebaseerd).
Volgens de WHO is gezondheid een toestand van volledig lichamelijk, geestelijk en maatschappelijk welzijn en niet slechts de afwezigheid van ziekte of andere lichamelijke gebreken.
Er worden 4 basisprincipes voor psychologen als beroepscode gehanteerd:
- Verantwoordelijkheid
- Integriteit
- Respect
- Deskundigheid
