- Effecten van afwijkende en abnormale ervaringen:
- Dieren (Hebb et al., Harlow)
- Roemeense wezen; 1sd beneden niveau. Geadopteerd in eerste 6 maanden: kinderen lieten cognititef de beste kwaliteiten zien
- NB-er: Meisje Genie. Modern wolfskind. Grootste gedeelde vd dag op een stoel in een kamer. Werd ontdekt toen ze 13 was. Werd totaal vermeden, werd niet tegen haar gepraat. Ze kreeg alleen voedsel. Vader depressief door autoongeluk. Moeder was blind. Kind leerde niet lopen en kreeg alleen pap dus kon niet eten. Ze kon heel slecht zien. Moeder kon het niet meer trekken en is weg gelopen met haar kind. Genie ging eerst naar een tehuis en toen naar verschillende pleeggezinnen. 13 jaar en 30 kilo (leek 7/8). Ze maakte vooruitgang op emotioneel en taalgebied. Maar kon de taal niet meer ontwikkelen zoals een jong kind kan, grammatica was erg moeilijk.

Aanname: hoe vroeger in ontwikkeling een hersenbeschadiging optreedt, des te kleiner de kans op blijvende gevolgen
- Dit is later genuanceerd, want gaat niet altijd op!
- Effecten van hersenschade hangen af van:
- Omvang en locatie schade
- Functies/Gedrag wat verband houdt met die specifieke locatie
- Leeftijd waarop schade ontstaat
- Volledig herstel functies na schade tijdens neurogenese
- Hersenschade tijdens migratie en differentiatie heeft grote gevolgen
- Hersenschade in latere ontwikkelingsstadia kan (gedeeltelijk) worden hersteld
- Hersenschade in kindertijd leidt tot kleiner brein op volwassen leeftijd

- Use the menu above every page to go to one of the main starting pages
- Tags & Taxonomy: gives you insight in the amount of summaries that are tagged by authors on specific subjects. This type of navigation can help find summaries that you could have missed when just using the search tools. Tags are organised per field of study and per study institution. Note: not all content is tagged thoroughly, so when this approach doesn't give the results you were looking for, please check the search tool as back up
- Follow authors or (study) organizations: by following individual users, authors and your study organizations you are likely to discover more relevant study materials.
