Products & Services CV

In 1998 Carolien Roovers established herself in India for a period of two years. She was deeply moved by the plight of stray animals living on the streets. She had already seen similar suffering in countries such as Turkey, Greece, Egypt, Sri Lanke and Nepal. During this period she began to give medical treatment to these stray animals. Once back in The Netherlands Carolien decided to continue her work by establishing a foundation to support existing animal welfare organisations in developing countries. In 2002, together with help from two volunteers, TheWorldAnimalJobs Foundation was established.

Protection of street animals

Support of local partnerorganisations who are preventing streetanimals in developing countries from unnecessary suffering, by means of:

  • supporting local partner organisations that work to birthcontrol measures
  • support of local partner organizations that provide shelter and treatment to injured, abused and neglected street animals
  • providing local partner organizations with interns and volunteers.

Volunteering jobs

  • WorldanimalJobs offers volunteer / work experience opportunities for travelers in India.
  • The foundation has the expertise, knowledge and a large network of Indian hospitals and veterinary care.
  • Vacancies are concentrated in New Delhi, Agra (Uttar Pradesh) and Ladakh (Nilgiri Hills).

Internship possibilities

  • WorldanimalJobs offers trainees opportunities to work in animal protection projects in India.
  • Students who are open to learn within a totally different cultural background, are willing to share their knowledge and want to work for the welfare of stray animals in developing countries, are welcome to contact the foundation.
  • Vacancies are concentrated in New Delhi, Agra (Uttar Pradesh) and Ladakh (Nilgiri Hills).
