Giving a presentation about your country

Education Category: Geography
Ages: 0-4, 4-8, 8-12, 12-16, 16+

Donated by Eddy

What do you need?

  • Paper
  • Pen
  • Map of the World or Europe or your country
  • Pictures of your country

How does it work?
You can start by asking the students what they already know of your country. If you get no response you can show them pictures and ask them what they see. If you get a lot of response you can filter out the things that are true and that are wrong. For example if one of the students states that all the Dutch people wear cloggs and harvest tulips try to explain in a fun way that this isn't the case. After the presentation you can do a quiz based on your presentation.

What else do I need to know?
Try to mix fun facts with educational content. This will help you to keep the students attention.

What is the purpose of this activity?
With this activity your students will get to know you and your country. They will also learn some geography by listening to your presentation and answer your questions.
