Manna Project

Manna Project International is a NGO working in Nicaragua and Ecuador. The organization aims to build communities of young talented leaders which can bring social change in their, often poor, communities. With support from volunteers and donors they have served over 3000 community members with programs focussing on education, leadership and economic development.

Fostering next generation leaders

  • Manna Project was founded by a group of college students from the US who wanted to use the energy of students to work with populations in need.
  • Over the years, the organisation has expanded and now serves over 3000 community members in Nicaragua and Ecuador.
  • By working together with young people from poor communities, Manna Project aims to break the cycle of poverty by supporting these people to become leaders and bring social change.

Internships

  • Manna Projects has a summer internship programme. For a couple of weeks, live and work with other young leaders and become involved in the daily functions of Manna Projects' work in the field. A very useful experience which helps you to understand long-term development goals and how to implement them. Visit the website for more information and the application procedure.

Volunteering

  • It is possible to volunteer at Manna's projects. As a programme or assistant-programme director you will direct a variety of projects, such as English classes or a health clinic. Besides, you have the flexibility of creating new programmes where the needs of the community meets your own education or interests.
