Travel in Lithuania?
- This southernmost Baltic state on the Baltic Sea has a lot to offer for the enterprising traveler. You will find beautiful nature, but the city of Vilnius will also amaze you with its range of cultural institutions and entertainment venues. There is even a real artists' quarter where you can see the world's only statue of Frank Zappa.
- The ideal place for sailing and winter surfing is in Nida, a town with beautiful white beaches.
- Daredevils can make the highest bungee jump from a European tower from the TV tower in Vilnius.
- During a walk through the Curonian Spit Park you will see a strange mix of dunes and coniferous forests with rare plants and animals.
- To understand a little more about the Soviet period in Lithuania, there is the Gruto Parkas where Soviet statues and other remains from the Soviet period have been brought together. Some people don't like it because the park is a kind of playground of the Soviet period, but it is interesting.
- Vilnius has the largest old city center in Europe, so you can enjoy old buildings, bars and squares (with churches). From the Gediminias Tower you have a beautiful view over the city. The university buildings are worth it if you can get in.
- Kaunas is also called the city of museums with, among other things, the Devil Museum and castle ruins.
- For relaxing on the beach you should go to Palanga, with beautiful white beaches and dunes.
- The old capital of Lithuania (Trakai) is especially beautiful on the Galve lake. For a beautiful view over the lake and to the city you can walk to the island (there is a bridge) where the castle from the 14th century is located.
