Travel in Mauritius

  • This country is located 1,800 kilometers southeast of Mozambique and consists of several islands, including uninhabited miniature islands. The island of Mauritius is the most famous, but travelers also regularly go to the remote and quiet island of Rodrigues, which can only be reached by plane from Mauritius. The island of Mauritius not only has beautiful white beaches and a clear ocean, but also a special culture, Hindu temples and mountain areas with waterfalls and colored hills.
  • The Blue Penny Museum is worth visiting and located in Port Louis and is the art and history museum of Mauritius.
  • Ziplining: In the south of the island of Mauritius you can zipline over the natural forest areas, banana and sugar cane plantations, waterfalls and rivers.

  • Chamarel is a village in the southwest of the island Mauritius is known for its hills with unexpected colors due to the mix of volcanic rock and natural minerals from the ground.
  • It is possible to walk with lions. This is the name of a popular attraction in Mauritius. Here visitors are allowed to walk and have their picture taken with lions in captivity.
