Hoorcollege 1
Wat zijn de veranderingen in de colleges ten opzichte van bestaande collegeaantekeningen/ sheets:
huidige aantekeningen zijn bruikbaar, maar Augustus Comte en J.W. Draper zijn dit jaar niet behandeld in het hoorcollege. Verder kwamen deze onderwerpen wel voor en vorig jaar niet:
- empirische cyclus:
- Nauwkeurige en systematische waarneming: verzamelen van data
- Analyse (inductie) van de data: patroonherkenning, waarschijnlijkheids- of kansberekening
- Induceren van hypothesen en/of algemene en abstracte theorie
- a) Afleiden of deduceren van toetsbare (falsifieerbare) hypothesen
b) Afleiden of deduceren van voorspellingen uit de theorie
c) Toetsen van hypothesen (voorspellingen) d.m.v. experimenten - Waarneming: verzamelen van nieuwe data
- Induceren van een verfijnde, verbeterde of nieuwe algemene abstracte theorie
- Toetsen van de hypothesen aan nieuwe data of experiment
- Proces blijven herhalen etc.
Welke onderwerpen worden besproken die niet worden behandeld in de literatuur:
- Waarheidsvinding: De strafvordering is gericht op de toepassing van het materiële strafrecht en om dit te mogen doen, moet worden vastgesteld of er sprake is van een strafbaar feit en een strafbare dader. Het voornaamste doel van de strafvordering is dus de waarheidsvinding.
- Rechtsvinding: Hoe komen juristen, en in het bijzonder rechters tot een oordeel in een juridisch geschil? De jurist gaat niet alleen op zoek naar de relevante feiten maar ook naar het in dit geval toepasselijke recht. Dit is rechtsvinding.

Aantekeningen zijn bruikbaar, alleen J.S. Mill is niet behandeld.
Hume daarentegen wordt wel aagehaald, de volgende uitspraken zijn door hem gedaan:
- Analytische uitspraken: per definitie waar
- De bril waarmee we naar de werkelijkheid kijken
- Domein filosofie
- Synthetische of empirische uitspraken: waar op grond correspondentie met de feiten
- Domein harde wetenschap
Hume's problem: wij zien causaliteit, terwijl wij dat helemaal niet kunnen zien.

Aristoteles’ wet van de overtuigingskracht:
- O = P + E + L
- Overtuigingskracht is een functie van:
- het ethos van de spreker;
- het gevoel dat hij opwekt bij het publiek (pathos);
- de vorm en inhoud van de redeneringen en argumenten: logos

Using and finding summaries, study notes en practice exams on JoHo WorldSupporter
There are several ways to navigate the large amount of summaries, study notes en practice exams on JoHo WorldSupporter.
- Use the menu above every page to go to one of the main starting pages
- Starting pages: for some fields of study and some university curricula editors have created (start) magazines where customised selections of summaries are put together to smoothen navigation. When you have found a magazine of your likings, add that page to your favorites so you can easily go to that starting point directly from your profile during future visits. Below you will find some start magazines per field of study
- Use the topics and taxonomy terms
- The topics and taxonomy of the study and working fields gives you insight in the amount of summaries that are tagged by authors on specific subjects. This type of navigation can help find summaries that you could have missed when just using the search tools. Tags are organised per field of study and per study institution. Note: not all content is tagged thoroughly, so when this approach doesn't give the results you were looking for, please check the search tool as back up
- Check or follow your (study) organizations:
- by checking or using your study organizations you are likely to discover all relevant study materials.
- this option is only available trough partner organizations
- Check or follow authors or other WorldSupporters
- by following individual users, authors you are likely to discover more relevant study materials.

- 'Quick & Easy'- not very elegant but the fastest way to find a specific summary of a book or study assistance with a specific course or subject.
