Customer satisfaction: om erachter te komen hoe tevreden de consument is. Met knoppen op het vliegveld.
Soorten peilingen:
- Political polls
- Peilingen voor politiek.
- Governmental statistics: door vragenlijsten. Niet verzameld voor een interventie, dus het blijft correlationele data.
- Data worden toevallig verzameld en met opzet.
- Slimme tv’s: Wordt toch al verzameld, dit is toevallig.
Data worden op verschillende manieren verzameld:
- Per ongeluk = organic
- Expres = designed
Correlationele data wordt designed om
- De sociale werkelijkheid te omschrijven.
- Om bepaalde (causale) verbanden te bestuderen
- Onderzoeksresultaten generaliseren naar een grotere groep
Inferential goals:
- Description
- Causation
- Prediction
De economische positie van vrouwen is vooruit gegaan → Description
Hoeveel mensen willen meedoen aan de verkiezingen → description
Vragenlijst mogelijkheden:
- Face-to-face (CAPI). Staat voor computer assistent personal interview
- Mail, dit is de post
- Telephone (CATI). Computer assistent telephone interview.
- Internet
- Mixed-mode
Je moet goed nagaan welke je neemt: bij face to face is er sprake van reactiviteit. Voor privacy over seks, drugs en alcohol is misschien face to face onderzoek minder handig.
Bij mixed-mode: Apart stukje voor de gevoelige vragen wordt dan online gezet.
Panel survey is een bijzondere combi. Groep mensen die ingestemd hebben om gedurende langere tijd, vragenlijsten in te vullen. Voordeel is dat we op die manier kunnen kijken naar cohort effecten. Een cohort wordt dan vanaf de leeftijd van 18 jaar steeds tot hun 30ste gevolgd ofzo.
Problemen:
Attrition
drop-out, men valt uit, gaat dood, verhuisd
Als je elk jaar dezelfde vragen moet invullen, ga je uiteindelijk hetzelfde antwoord invullen.
Oplossing: Het ene jaar doe je hem via de post, het andere jaar online en dan via de telefoon.
Longitudinale studie is globale term voor studies die langere tijd meegaan.
Coding answers: Ordinaal meetniveau. 1 is nee ik ben niet onrustig. 4 is ik ben erg onrustig. Item scores zijn ordinaal. Bij pretty much = 3. Is de item score dus 3. Hogere score is meer van het theoretische begrip, maar we willen 1 score:
Summatie van de item scores is een optie, maar het probleem: man kan het ook helemaal niet invullen: Dan heb je een lagere score dan het minimum van twaalf.
Optie 2: gemiddelde score uitrekenen van alle item scores. In de vragenlijst wordt vaak gebruik gemaakt van reversely phrased items. Anders doet iedereen nee, nee, nee. Dit is het andersom opschrijven van een vraag. Andersom coderen heet recoding. Dit is 4 wordt 1 en 1 wordt 4.
- Bij een schaalscore bij een Likert schaal zit geen nul. We hebben waarden die tussen de 1 en de 4 kunnen vallen.
- Bij een schaalscore heb je een interval meetniveau. Ratio eigenlijk nooit, want je hebt geen absoluut nulpunt.
Straight lining = nee, nee, nee, nee aan een stuk door invullen bij een vragenlijst. Je start bij 1, omdat mensen bij 0 er ook een nul-waarde aan gaan koppelen: Nee heb toch geen PTSS, dan is men geneigd aan een stuk door alleen maar 0 in te vullen.

- The topics and taxonomy of the study and working fields gives you insight in the amount of summaries that are tagged by authors on specific subjects. This type of navigation can help find summaries that you could have missed when just using the search tools. Tags are organised per field of study and per study institution. Note: not all content is tagged thoroughly, so when this approach doesn't give the results you were looking for, please check the search tool as back up

- 'Quick & Easy'- not very elegant but the fastest way to find a specific summary of a book or study assistance with a specific course or subject.
