Useful Guide for kedarnath Yatra for 2021

One of the oldest and most praised Shiva temples is Kedarnath, which is situated in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag District of the Garhwal region. One of Uttarakhand's primary temples is Kedarnath. Kedarnath yarta is one of Lord Shiva's twelve Jyotirlingas and is located at an altitude of 3586 meters above sea level.

Lord Shiva, the defender and destroyer, is also known by the epithet Kedar, which means mighty. It is an oasis to meditate because of the stunning surroundings, which resemble heaven on earth. The Shiva Temple, a Hindu temple that draws visitors from across the world, is the site's principal draw. Natural beauty and religiosity increase the possibilities of the travel and tourist industry.

Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath are the four places that make up Chardham. These four are found in the region of the Himalayas known as Dev Bhoomi, or the Land of the Gods, in the state of Uttarakhand. The individual taking a Char Dham tour visits all four places and attempts to finish the journey according to the designated order, despite the fact that each of the above four locations has its own special significance. This yatra is a variation of the Teerth yatra, a sacred pilgrimage.

Some yatra suggestions

  • If you wish to visit the Bhairavnath Temple in Kedarnath, check out of your hotel room first since there is a shorter path that will allow you to travel back to Sonprayag faster. I am Gaurikund.

  • You can trek the remaining distance or rent horses, ponies, or palki. Reaching Gaurikund, where a shuttle service runs to Sonprayag, takes 5 to 6 hours.

  • If you arrive in Sonprayag between 2:00 and 3:30 PM, it is preferable to drive the 30 kilometers (1.5 hours) to Guptkashi. By doing this, you can travel the next day in 2 hours less time and avoid morning traffic.

Some hiking advice for your trip to Kedarnath Temple:

Try to begin your journey early in the day to avoid intense sunlight; avoid walking on an empty stomach; bring an umbrella or raincoat; walk around with shoes that have a tight grip; try to stuff only necessary in the bag; bring water bottles but refrain from tossing them anywhere, it is recommended to bring steel water bottles.

If you leave at 8 am, you will arrive in Kedarnath Valley Post by midday or close to 3 pm. For an extended stay, look for a hotel room. You can reserve the complete room for yourself and your family if you are traveling either by itself or have enough money. You can take pictures of the valley in the evening and take in the temple ambience.

You can relieve your mind through the tiredness of trekking by conversing with other travelers about their origins and travels. It will be the happiest day of your life if you take a stroll around the temple and take in the scenery of the snow-capped Himalayas. Having dinner, going to bed on schedule, and unwinding before getting ready for next trip.

After the 2013 severe flooding that wreaked havoc on the Kedarnath region, the Nehru College of Hiking (NIM) is attempting to bring Kedarnath back to its former splendor. The revised Kedarnath hike route is now found on the valley's right side. You can get there by crossing a now-demolished bridge at Rambada. The NIM erects sheds every kilometer so that passengers can rest during their walk.
