Tourism, education and progress

• Located in Zambia, Project Luangwa aims to support local communities living close to the South Luangwa National Park to gain benefits from local tourism through supporting education, women, gender equality and by creating training opportunities.
• Through education, the organization aims to help people establish a sustainable income.
• Improving the standard of education, increasing the number of classrooms and assisting vulnerable children to receive an education are amongst their goals.

Projects

• The Luangwa projects runs several development projects to improve the above mentioned goals. 
• The organization has for example established a Vocational Training Centre where locals are trained in vocational skills that are asked for by employers.
• With these skills, people are capable of fulfilling local vacancies or starting their own business. Locals that start their own business furthermore receive support from Luangwa. 
• A few projects are aimed at increasing the position of women. In the 'Girls' Club' community member provide advice and support to young girls in order to improve their self-confidence. Also, hygiene issues are tackled and local women receive support in establishing their own income.
• To preserve the environment, Project Luangwa works closely with conservation organizations and educates people on the impact of their actions on the environment.
