Sint Eustatius National Parks (Stenapa) is een stichting die drie natuurgebieden en een botanische tuin op het eiland Sint Eustatius beheert. Projecten van deze organisatie richten zich op natuur- en milieu-educatie, natuurbeheer en -behoud en het planten van inheemse bomen en planten.

Natuurbescherming

  • Sint Eustatius National Parks beheert drie beschermde natuurgebieden en een botanische tuin op Sint Eustatius in opdracht van de overheid. De organisatie werkt veel samen met de lokale bevolking om de natuur zo veel mogelijk te beschermen.
  • Het is mogelijk de nationale parken te bezoeken. Er zijn verschillende wandelpaden en vaarroutes. In de botanische tuin is er ook ruimte voor recreatie, met picknick en BBQ mogelijkheden.

Internships

  • De lokale organisatie heeft full time stages in de verschillende nationale parken. Als stagiair werk je samen met de rangers die de parken beheren. Zie de website van de organisatie voor meer informatie en om te reageren.

Volunteering

  • Er zijn verschillende vrijwilligerswerk mogelijkheden bij de nationale parken. Zo kun je bijvoorbeeld helpen bij het onderhouden en beheren van de parken.
