In Uganda there was malaria, dengue and several other bugs, but if we sprayed ourselves with DEET and swallowed our malarone every day, everything was fine and it didn't matter at all. But there was another bug in the air, a bug we couldn't protect ourselves against with spray or pills: The travel bug! And once the travel bug bites, you can't go to a doctor, 'cause there is no known antidote. But it doesn't matter, because it’s the best bug in the world and I know I shall be happily infected for the rest of my life, just like the rest of the Worldmapping group I went to Uganda with.
Right now, I am thinking about going to Cambodja this summer, with Worldmapping again. But if this doesn't work out I know for sure I will still travel a lot in my life, because I am infected and there is nothing I could do about it but travelling :) It's my dream to see the world! Not to stay in luxurious hotels, but really seeing the world: meeting new cultures, new people and also do some more volunteering work and all in a fair way of course, that's my dream!
