Window Tinting Can Reduce Hazardous Glare from The Sun

If you've been driving for very long, you have likely encountered some hazardous road conditions. While there are many poor weather conditions that can result in a car accident, many people never give a sunny day a second thought. As it turns out, fog, snowstorms, ice, and sleet are not the only dangers when during. Bright sunshine can be equally dangerous, causing glare, impeding your vision, and potentially leading to accidents.

Accidents caused as a result of bright sun/glare happen more frequently than you may realize. It is generally a cause and effect scenario. While sun in itself will not cause you to wreck, the subsequent glare created by the sun just may. Glare can occur when the sun hits a variety of objects you may encounter when driving down the road. Culprits include, other vehicles, windows, metal, or even water. The glare may even stem from the inside of your very own vehicle, as the sun reflects off of your shiny, polished interior. This can put a direct glare on the inside of your windshield blinding you to the road outside.

Statistics show that a common theme in traffic accident reports is injuries, deaths, and accidents occurring as a result of a glare related incident. When a driver's vision is obstructed by glare, they are more likely to rear end another driver, cross into oncoming traffic, run into animals or pedestrians, run traffic lights/signs, or go off the road.

While you may have overlooked or been unaware of the dangers of bright sun in the past, don't be deceived, glare can have a disastrous impact. You may falsely assume that the limited time, glare from the sun blinds you, nothing can happen. Think again! In just a few seconds a sudden stop can occur, a child could run onto the street, and many other scenarios that require a quick response. The blinding sun could lead to injury or death of you and others. Even in the best-case scenario you will damage your car or even have it totaled due to a glare related accident.

Thankfully there are steps you can take to reduce your risk of an accident caused by glare. You may not be able to help other driver's fix their glare issues, but you can take responsibility for your own vehicle to avoid causing an accident yourself.

In addition to common sense solutions such as utilizing visors and sunglasses on sunny days, you can create a permanent solution to the problem of glare by having window tint installed on your vehicle! A quality window tint can easily resolve the issue of a glare, protecting you from every angle. No matter if the glare is coming as a reflection from metal, water, snow, or other reflective surfaces, window tint is an effective solution to blindness caused by glare!
