Education

• Richmond Vale Academy is an educational institution with the aim to train activists from all over the world to fight global warming and global poverty shoulder to shoulder with the poor.
• At Richmond Vale Academy students from St. Vincent and around the world participate in shorter and longer courses to reduce poverty and protect the environment.

Volunteer programs

• The academy offers different programs where volunteers can learn about climate change and biodiversity and contribute to different projects on the islands.
• Climate Change Activist 1month: starting January, July and November. Climate course in which you will take several actions such as beach clean ups, tree planting, teaching, supporting farmers and airing radio programs.
• Climate Change Activist 6 months: Learn, Teach and DO: You will participate in research, studies followed by concrete actions with the many Vincentians to make St. Vincent ready for climate change.
• Fighting Poverty: 18 months program, starting April and October. Comprehensive study of global poverty: you will learn about the conditions of the billions of people living in poverty and how it affects their health, education, freedom, economic opportunities and if they will have a short or a long life.
• Programs create changes in poor communities in Belize, Ecuador and St. Vincent & The Grenadines
• By joining one of the programs at Richmond Vale Academy you will become part of a long tradition of humanitarians, multiaged and multicultural people from all over the world.
• You need to be at 18 years old. There is no upper limit as long as you are reasonable fit.

Diving and Hiking

As a part of fundraising activities RVA run a full Hiking and Scuba Center:

• a PADI Certified school, close to Richmond Beach - affordable for backpackers and lowbudget travellers
• various hikes for all ages: volcano hike, nature trails, waterfall tours
• horse vacations: clinics, lessons and hikes

• Once in a while there are job opportunities at RVA for climate and organic farmer teachers or at the PR & marketing team. Check the website for the most recent information.

Internships

• Students of Environmental Engeneering Programs can do the 1 or 6 months Climate Compliance Conference Program as part of their education, and receive credits from their university. Contact RVA through the contact options and see how you can work together.

Volunteering

• Richmond Vale Academy are always looking for volunteers and interns to help in different areas, from promotion to helping out with the horses.
