Voedselbank Utrecht, Kanaleneiland

Last week I volunteered at the "voedselbank" in Utrecht. Weekly, around 60 families can pick up food (vegetables, drinks, bread etc) to prepare meals for about a week. I helped sorting all the food and organising the food packages for the families. Furthermore, I helped the families putting their "groceries" in bags and we gave them something to drink like tea or coffee.

It was a good experience, because I met people who could not afford to buy food in a supermarket and I was abble to help them. Even if it's a little step, we hope to support them during a difficult time in their lives and hopefully they are not dependent of the "voedselbank" for to long.
