Volunteering in Utrecht, different projects every week; cooking, walking with eldery or support children with reading etc. You can choose a project you like and volunteer for a coupe of hours.
Each wednesday afternoon people who cant afford to buy groceries at the supermakket can pick up a package with some food, like meat, potatoes, bread and vegetables at a local church in Utrecht. Volunteering at elderly care centre: walking with elderly in a wheelchair in the neighbourhood during two evenings. The elderly loved it to go outside and get some fresh air, they hardly spend any time outside. We were bleshed with good weather, so the elderly could really enjoy their time outside in the sun. Assisting young migrants at primary school with reading their first book. Personal assisting each child during 10 minutes. I notiticed that some children need some extra attention, but stil every child is vers enthousiastic and are willing to learn
Last week I volunteered at the "voedselbank" in Utrecht. Weekly, around 60 families can pick up food (vegetables, drinks, bread etc) to prepare meals for about a week. I helped sorting all the food and organising the food packages for the families.
