Intro

Backpacking or traveling in Ghana?

  • Ghana is one of the best travelable and developed countries in Africa (especially for example for Dutch people). It is relatively safe, the people are incredibly friendly and there is a huge amount to do within a short distance of each other.
  • Activity spotting: explore the rainforest of Kakum National Park, experience lively Accra, take a food tour of Ghanaian food, visit a cocoa farm, have a beautiful garment made, walk through slave fort Cape Coast Castle, enjoy the tropical coastline, take surfing lessons and spot elephants in Mole National Park.

Studying in Ghana?

  • Ghana is developing rapidly and so is education. There are several good universities, specialized colleges and polytechnic institutes with a huge choice of courses. Popular courses include engineering, agriculture and forestry, business administration, natural sciences and humanities.
  • Ghana's official language is English, which makes a difference!
  • Study cities: Accra, Kumasi.

Internship in Ghana?

  • There are several contacts between organizations in the Netherlands and Ghana. Possibly you can find an internship through a Dutch organization. Internships are available in medicine/nursing, education, orphan care, among others.
  • Competencies: cultural sensitivity, adaptability/working under unpredictable circumstances, resilience, problem solving thinking, understanding of development issues.

Volunteer in Ghana?

  • There are multiple options for volunteering in Ghana. For example, consider volunteering your forces for sea turtle protection, education, as a medical assistant, for reforestation and construction work.

Working in Ghana?

  • The fact that English is spoken makes finding a job easier, but it can still be quite difficult. It is especially important that you already have connections and a good, valuable skillset/background. There are few options, but sectors where you might find something are international business administration, construction (as an executive with experience), teacher or at international companies.
  • Most opportunity are in Accra.

Working as a digital nomad in Ghana?

  • As a culturally rich, friendly and well-developed country, Ghana is a growing destination for digital nomads. There are many options for accommodations and an increasing number of co-working places. Already in Accra, you have access to modern amenities, while you can enjoy beautiful beaches and beautiful parks in your downtime. Costs can be higher than you might expect in a country in Africa, though.
  • Favorite locations: Accra, including the Osu district, and Kumasi.

Living in Ghana?

  • In Ghana, you definitely experience a good quality of life. The people are incredibly friendly, it is politically stable and it is one of the most developed countries in Africa. However, it is also one of the most expensive.
  • Education is good, so it is also a good country for families to move to.
  • Just be aware of diseases that are going around, such as Malaria, and security risks such as robberies.

ZIE MIJN PROFIELFOTO!

;-). Een les gaat over normen en waarden. Leuke stellingen komen aan de orde, zodat er een discussie ontstaat. Ook kenmerkende normen van Ghana heb ik in de powerpoint verwerkt! De andere les gaat over...
