The song "I was here" is a beautiful song that captures the feeling when going abroad and doing something for humanity. Especially when doing volunteer work, it feels like you brought some extra smiles to the people´s faces, and they in turn, have imprinted their gifts on your heart. They helped to make your time abroad wonderful, interesting, fascinating, sad sometimes but also very beautiful. These summers are once in a life time experiences and you can say, I was here. You made them believe that they are wonderful people, and it is true, you had meaning to them and they had meaning to you.
As Bill Wilson once said: "To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world."
