We are a young Dutch couple looking for buyers for our successful coffee shop in Takoradi, in the Western Region of Ghana. We are relocating due to family circumstances. The doors of Coffee Corner opened in July 2013 and the shop has been profitable ever since. We specialize in serving breakfast and lunch and serve the best coffee of Ghana (no joke!).
Coffee Corner is located on Beach Road, the expat area of the “oil city”, a name given to Takoradi-Sekondi since oil was found in the coastal area in 2007. With the new oil economy a large group of expats came to Takoradi and the local SMEs have been able to prosper. We are fortunate to call a large group of these expats our regular customers, but we are also blessed to have been able to satisfy the needs of the local Ghanaian community.
Unlike other African countries, Ghana has had a history of political stability. In December 2016 a new government was peacefully installed. This peacefulness creates a calmness for foreigners in Ghana and especially for those looking to stay for a longer term. Furthermore, Ghana is a lovely country to reside in, not just because of the political stability or the fact that it is an English speaking country, but also because of economic growth and the general attitude of Ghanaians. They are known to be happy, open and warm and we can conform those attributes to be very true for Ghanaians!
If you are interested but are now thinking the red tape will be dreadful, I can assure you that you will land yourself in a company where everything has been set in place for years. Not only do we have a good group of suppliers, we know the tricks of the trade and that also means we can help you with your initial set up. When you would take over Coffee Corner you are entitled to a work permit and a residence permit that you will need to work and reside in Ghana as a foreigner. We also carry all the permits of a restaurant, so if you were to change things up you would be able to do so quite easily.
