Lord Shiva is located in Jammu and Kashmir's union territory, Amarnath. An ice Shivaling enshrined in the Amarnath cave resembles Lord Shiva because it is formed naturally by ice. Every year, millions of tourists from around the globe trek to Amarnath for a challenging mountain trek called 'Amarnath Yatra'. It is said that this cave is the same cave where Goddess Parvati received the secret of life and eternity from Lord Shiva.
The Amarnath Cave can only be visited during July and August, which is called Shravan. Baltal or Pahalgam are the two routes available for undertaking the Amarnath Yatra. It is a steeper trek on the Baltal route, though it is shorter. Most devotees prefer the Pahalgam route despite it being longer. The journey from the base point to Amarnath takes typically 3-5 days. Private companies offer helicopter services both ways.

Asif Khan, Nur Jehan's elder brother, designed and built Nishat Bagh in 1633.
