Products & Services CV 

Gezondheidszorg voor de armsten

  • Mercy Ships beschikt over het grootste particuliere varende ziekenhuis ter wereld, ingericht om de armste mensen in Afrika te helpen. Via een schip kunnen deze mensen het effectiefst bereikt worden.
  • Mercy Ships biedt verschillende soorten gezondheidszorg aan: mond- en kaakchirurgie, algemene chirurgie, tandheelkunde en oogoperaties. Ook wordt er hulp aangeboden aan mensen die terminaal ziek zijn.

Lokale training

  • Naast directe hulp geeft Mercy Ships ook trainingen aan de lokale bevolking om zelfredzaamheid te stimuleren. De organisatie traint medisch personeel zodat de gezondheidszorg van een land verbeterd kan worden en geeft landbouwcursussen om aan te zetten tot veiligere voedelvoorziening.

  • Mercy Ships werkt alleen met vrijwilligers. Dit om de zorg gratis aan te kunnen bieden.

Internships

  • Voor zover bekend bij JoHo biedt Mercy Ships (nog) geen stageplekken aan.

Volunteering

  • Mercy Ships werkt met vrijwilligers voor allerlei functies; van medische zorg tot schoonmaker tot kapper. Vrijwilligers betalen hun eigen reiskosten en verblijf aan boord. Kijk op de website of neem contact op voor meer informatie.
