Travel in Sint Maarten?
St. Maarten is an island in the Caribbean divided into two parts, with a French part in the north and a Dutch part in the south. Free movement exists between the two halves. So you can easily explore the island on your own and experience the differences between north and south firsthand. The official language on the island is English, although French and Dutch are also common. The Dutch part has been a separate country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands since 2010. Previously, it was part of the Netherlands Antilles. The national holiday is Nov. 11, after the saint whose name the island bears. It is not an island with many attractions, but its location, language, weather, beach and the dead Flagstaff volcano (on the French part) provide enough reasons to spend a nice beach vacation on St. Maarten.
