Orangutan Foundation International

De missie van de Orangutan Foundation International is om het behoud en de bescherming van en het begrip over orang oetans en hun habitat in het tropische bos te steunen, alsook in gevangenschap opgegroeide orang oetans verzorgen en terug begeleiden naar een leven in het bos. Daarnaast biedt de organisatie educatie over orang oetans en natuurbescherming en –behoud aan kinderen, overheden en ander publiek. Deze Amerikaanse stichting zet zich in voor orang oetans en voor het behoud van oerbossen waar deze dieren voorkomen.

Studenten met een medische achtergrond of dierengeneeskunde kunnen in aanmerking komen voor een onbetaalde stage bij het Orangutan Care Center and Quarantine in Centraal Kalimantan.
