Welke vakken en wetenschappen bestuderen de geest?

  • Cognitieve psychologie is de wetenschap die bestudeert hoe de hersenen informatie verwerken. Hierbij wordt gekeken naar hoe we externe informatie tot ons nemen, hoe we het interpreteren en hoe we het gebruiken.
  • Persoonlijkheidsleer kijkt naar de processen die persoonlijkheid beïnvloeden, waarbij persoonlijkheidspsychologen de invloed van cultuur, leren, biologie en cognitie onderzoeken.
  • Psychopathologie gaat over het ontstaan, de ontwikkeling en de behandeling van mentale stoornissen.

Welke vakken en wetenschappen bestuderen gedrag?

  • De biologische psychologie en neuropsychologie leggen de link tussen de hersenen en het gedrag en omvatten kennis van de hersenen.
  • De gezondheidspsychologie bestudeert ziektepatronen, hoe we tegen ziektes aankijken, de gevolgen van stress en het verband tussen onze emoties en de biologische processen in ons lichaam.
  • De klinische psychologie is de toepassing van psychologie om psychische problemen te diagnosticeren en aan te pakken.
  • De sociale psychologie probeert de diepere betekenis te achterhalen van mentale processen die ten grondslag liggen aan sociaal gedrag. (Sociale) psychologie onderscheidt zich van bijvoorbeeld filosofie, sociologie en antropologie door de methode van onderzoek (scientific method) waarin ze de theorieën testen op bewijs. Dit betekent dat theorieën testbaar moeten zijn.
  • Arbeids- en organisatiepsychologie richt zich op het toepassen van psychologische theorieën, principes en onderzoek op de werksituatie.
  • Criminologie is de wetenschap van het bestuderen van het gedrag dat door de wetgever strafbaar is gesteld. Door middel van kennis wordt gezocht naar de meest effectieve en menselijke manier van aanpak van criminaliteit. Bij de criminologie wordt multidisciplinair gekeken: rechten, sociologie, psychologie, biologie en meer.
  • De filosofie stelt fundamentele vragen, deze zijn radicaal en veelomvattend, ze richten zich op de grondbeginselen waarbinnen het menselijk bestaan zich voltrekt.

Welke vakken en wetenschappen bestuderen hoe iemand leert?

  • Ontwikkelingspsychologie omschrijft en verklaart veranderingen in de gedachten, het gedrag, de redenering en het functioneren van een persoon onder invloed van de biologische, individuele en omgevingsfactoren. Ontwikkelingspsychologen bestuderen de ontwikkeling van kinderen en de ontwikkeling van alle mensen gedurende het hele leven vanuit verschillende perspectieven.
  • De pedagogiek helpt reflecteren over opvoedings- en ontwikkelingsdoelen om zo opvoeding en onderwijs te verbeteren en ondersteunen. De pedagogiek bekijkt hoe het belang van het kind het beste gediend kan worden. In veel opzichten lijken de pedagogiek en psychologie op elkaar. Zowel psychologie als pedagogiek richten zich op de opvoeding en ontwikkeling van kinderen. Er zijn wel een aantal verschillen. Het verschil tussen psychologie en pedagogiek; de psychologie richt zich alleen op de ontwikkeling van en de interactie met het kind. Pedagogiek gebruikt perspectieven uit verschillende disciplines, waaronder de psychologie, maar ook bijvoorbeeld geneeskundige perspectieven. Daarnaast legt de psychologie de nadruk op beschrijving en verklaring van ontwikkeling. De pedagogiek is vooral gericht op de praktische toepassing van de verkregen kennis; hoe moet je iets dan in de praktijk aanpakken.
  • Onderwijskunde is breder dan de meeste mensen denken, het richt zich op leren en instructie binnen een variatie aan contexten, onder andere binnen scholen.
  • Het bestuderen van de gevolgen van kindermishandeling analyseert de gevolgen van agressie, fysiek pijn doen en verwaarlozing van een jong kind.

Wat is psychologie?

  • De psychologie is de wetenschap van het gedrag en de geest. Bij gedrag draait het om observeerbare acties van mensen en dieren, en bij de geest (mind) hebben we het over alle menselijke subjectieve ervaringen zoals het geheugen, de gevoelens en de dromen van de mens, maar ook alle onbewuste kennis en gewoontes die invloed hebben op het bewuste gedrag van mensen.

        • JoHo adviseert iedereen die naar het buitenland vertrekt om te zorgen:
          • dat je een verzekering neemt die voor de passende periode, en vóór je vertrek is afgesloten
          • dat je een verzekering neemt die geldig is voor je leeftijd, je nationaliteit en je woonplaats
          • dat je een verzekering neemt die geldig is in het gebied waar je gaat reizen of wonen
          • dat je voldoende verzekerd bent voor de sporten en activiteiten die je gaat uitoefenen
          • dat je verzekerd bent voor SOS-hulpverlening en voor vervroegde terugkeer voor als er iets met je gebeurt, of met je directe familie
          • dat je medische kosten tot de kostprijs (wat het daadwerkelijk kost) verzekert, en niet alleen voor de standaard kosten. In de meeste landen zijn de zorgkosten hoger dan in Nederland.
          • dat je bagage verzekert, of voldoende voorzorgmaatregelen neemt tegen diefstal of beschadiging
          • dat je goed verzekerd bent tegen particuliere aansprakelijkheid
