Samboja Lodge is located on Indonesian island Borneo. In addition to accommodation, there are various nature projects at the eco-lodge that are committed to protecting the rainforest and local animal species, such as the orangutan.

Products & Services CV

Ecolodge

  • De Samboja ecolodge is onderdeel van de Borneo Oerang Oetan Survival stichting. Bezoekers kunnen hier zien hoe het behouden en uitbreiden van het regenwoud in zijn werk gaat. 
  • Om het regenwoud van Borneo en de bedreigde oerang oetan te beschermen heeft de lodge verschillende projecten opgezet, bijvoorbeeld een herbebossings project, een oeran oetan opvangcentrum en een voorlichtingsproject. Ook wordt er onderzoek gedaan naar boom- en plantsoorten en het milieu.
  • De lodge zelf is gebouwd van gerecycled materiaal en ingericht in lokale stijl. Er zijn verschillende soorten kamers waar gasten kunnen verblijven. Daarnaast kunnen gasten verschillende tours doen, zoals wandeltochten in de omgeving, en de projecten bezoeken om over de oerang oetans en natuurbehoud te leren. 
  • Ook is het mogelijk om de lodge en de projecten te bezoeken in een dag.
