'What we contribute to the World'

Zenji Hotel is een project van Zenji Zanzibar, een organisatie die er van overtuigd is dat toerisme armoede kan bestrijden. Hotel stimuleert zoveel mogelijk de lokale economie. Zo zijn de meubels en handwerken in de kamers van het hotel gemaakt door lokale ambachtslieden en wordt het eten van de cafés ingekocht bij lokale voedselverkopers. Iedereen van het personeel van Zenji Hotel komt uit Tanzania en krijgen hier wel de kans om getraind te worden in het werk en Engels te leren.

Travel & Cooperate

De oprichters zijn Nederlands en het personeel komt volledig uit Tanzania.
Zenji Zanzibar werkt samen met lokale organisaties, NGO's, particuliere ondernemingen en onderwijsinstituten.

Zenji Hotel ligt midden in de stad Stone Town en op loopafstand van de haven.

Accommodatie

Je kan kiezen uit 9 verschillende kamers, allemaal in authentieke Zanzibarese/Arabische stijl.
Alle kamers hebben air-conditionar, ventilator, tweepersoonsbedden en sommige kamers hebben een balkon.
Op het dakterras is een ontbijt buffet aanwezig.
Verder zijn er op het dakterras allerlei boeken en spelletjes waar je gebruik van kan maken. En je kan gebruik maken van wifi.

Café en Boetiek

Beneden het hotel bevind zich Zenji Café & Boetique.
Hier kan je, onder het genot van een koffie, homemade brownie of lunch, op het terras zitten en voorbijgangers bekijken. Ook kan je er dineren.
In de boetiek zijn er allerlei originele handwerken, gemaakt door Tanzanianen, te koop.
Er is ook nog een ander café midden in het park Forodhani Gardens voor ontbijt, lunch en snacks.

Activiteiten en Tours

Zenji Hotel biedt verschillende excursies aan in en rondom Stone Town, zoals een stadswandeling, een bezoek aan een recycle werkplaats of een bezoek aan het Jozani Forest.
