The Day I Went Bald for Children

February 13, 2014. I had my head shaved and donated my hair to make wigs for children with cancer. For how many weeks I've been semi-bald. Now it appears I have a pixie cut but I would shave my hair again for children if I had to.

After how many years of being inspired by my friend Serge Gabriel, I finally shaved my head this year. Made it grow almost 2 years. I’d do anything for kids and just like the organization Kythe, I believe children should be out flying kites and not fighting diseases. Thanks to this opportunity a door to another chapter of my life has opened. Apart from the cool breeze I’m now pleasantly experiencing, I definitely feel like I grew more as a person and human being when I got my head shaved and donated my hair.

To everyone I didn’t know cheering me on at the Be Brave Get Shaved and Hair2Share booth, you guys were amazing. I didn’t waiver or hesitate and you guys cheering me on made sure of that. Couldn't have done it either without support from my family, friends and my awesome "boss" Juliette who brought me to the event herself with Simoun and my new friend Manon.

Ever since I did it and posted it on Facebook, people were sharing my post and apparently I inspired some people to share it, do something and even shave their heads themselves. I hope I get to inspire more people. It's for the kids after all.
