The former part of Yugoslavia is a safe country after the civil war and genocide, also for tourists. The country is rich in beautiful mountain landscapes and a special mix of culture. This is reflected in the street scene, the food and the costumes.

  • Adrenaline overload: Bosnia-Herzegovina is a fantastic place for river sports and one of the best locations for whitewater rafting in Europe. In the popular city of Bihać you can go rafting and canoeing on the Una River all year round.
  • In 1984, the Winter Olympics were held in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Not surprising because the slopes are beautiful and it is a lot cheaper here than at the more famous ski destinations. On the Jahorina, the second largest mountain in Bosnia, there are several slopes, for beginners and advanced.
  • For culture lovers, Mostar is not to be missed. In this capital of the Herzegovina region you will find old Ottoman architecture such as Stari Most, the sixteenth-century bridge that forms an arch over the Neretva River. There are a number of mosques around the bridge. The oldest and holiest in the area is the Karadoz-Bey mosque. JoHotspots Bosnia and Herzegovina
