Inverse square law: als je de tafel 2 maal verder weg van de lamp zet , komt er 4 keer zo weinig licht op de tafel. Oftewel : x maal zo ver weg, x^2 keer zo weinig lichtsterkte (illuminantie). Je kan deze law vermijden met een lens of een parabolische spiegel.
Hoeveel licht komt er van de tafel af (luminantie) komt? Het materiaal van je tafel bepaald de eigenschappen:
Voor een werktafel is een matte lichte (kleur) tafel het best.
Daglicht is geen goed licht voor op de werkvloer. De intensiteit is namelijk variabel over het seizoen en over de dag. Ook varieert de frequentie-inhoud varieert ook over de dag.
Welke zichtbaarheidsfactoren spelen een rol met betrekking tot prestatie?
- De grootte van een object (op je netvlies!)
- Hoeveelheid licht en contrast (hoe hoger hoe beter)
LED lampen zijn de toekomst!
Disability glare: zorgt ervoor dat je even niks meer ziet doordat je verblind wordt.
Discomfort glare: niet helemaal verblind, maar wel onaangenaam.
Je kan glare voorkomen door niet in de offending zone te zitten met je lamp, dus je lamp kan het best recht boven je tafel staan:
Vaak kiezen mensen voor wat ze visueel comfortabel vinden en niet wat visueel de beste performance geeft.
Er kunnen een aantal factoren door trillingen beïnvloed worden, namelijk:
- Gereedschap trilt / locatiefouten
- Visuele perceptie / rol van reflexen
- Haptische perceptie
Over kou en warmte is weinig theorie bekend, want het is moeilijk aan te tonen in het lab omdat experimenten al gauw niet ethisch zijn.
Kou beïnvloedt de haptiek en het is ook niet comfortabel.
Van straling zijn geen psychologische effecten bekend.
De ruimte heeft een aantal invloeden:
- Hoogtevrees
- Onder en boven is verstoort
Meten in de buitenwereld is lastig, want:
- Veel extra ruis
- Weinig controle, veel ruimte voor strategie
- Vaak miniaturisatie apparatuur vereist
- Er moet veel bijgehouden worden
- Vocht, temperatuur
- Coördinatensystemen
