Kwesties van misdrijven, criminalisering en cool zijn, zijn cultureel bepaald.

 

Street culture: de geglobaliseerde wereld van kapitaal en informatiegolven wordt aan gerefereerd door sociaal theoretici of een late of hoge moderniteit.

-> product van sociale, economische en culturele exclusie

-> vaak wel symbolische inclusie doordat de street culture wordt bewonderd

 

Paradigma: op zoek naar eigen cultuur, want ze worden niet geaccepteerd in de mainstream cultuur, maar de mainstream neem de street culture wel in zich op.

 

Cultuur (volgens Williams): multidimensionaal begrip

1. de producten die mensen produceren

2. de manier waarop mensen logica maken van de wereld en hoe ze leven.

3. de processen waarbij dingen worden zou als ze zijn

-> cultuur is dynamisch, veranderlijk en verplaatsend.

 

Klasse is een vorm van kritische bemiddeling van het zijn.

Karakteristieken van exclusie (sociaal, economisch en cultureel) zijn verschillend over tijd en plaats, desondanks is er een gemengde ervaring van ‘excluded’ worden.

 

Street culture (volgens Bourgois): een complex en conflictueel web van geloof, symbolen, vormen van interactie, waarden en ideologieën die opgekomen zijn als verzet tegen exclusie van de mainstream samenlevingen.

-> waarden, regels, praktijken en stijlen.

- Anderson: street culture = people’s culture

- volkscultuur van laat 20ste eeuw en vroeg 21ste eeuw.

- street culture is een continuüm; niet elke street culture is even extreem

 

Analyseren van globale street culture kan de foute lijnen van inclusie verlichten en hoogtepunten geven aan de universeel schadende consequenties van exclusie.

 

Belangen van de street culture:

Overleving (vb. door tekort aan water en eten), onwettige economie, respect, weerwil tegenover autoriteit van de staat, collectivisme & community, consumentisme & aanzien, hedonisme & visceraal.

 

‘Cool’ zijn is belangrijk in de street culture.

 

Presentie street culture kan gezien worden vanuit het micro (vanuit het individu etc.)

  2. Use the topics and taxonomy terms
    • The topics and taxonomy of the study and working fields gives you insight in the amount of summaries that are tagged by authors on specific subjects. This type of navigation can help find summaries that you could have missed when just using the search tools. Tags are organised per field of study and per study institution. Note: not all content is tagged thoroughly, so when this approach doesn't give the results you were looking for, please check the search tool as back up
  3. Check or follow your (study) organizations:
    • by checking or using your study organizations you are likely to discover all relevant study materials.
    • this option is only available trough partner organizations
  4. Check or follow authors or other WorldSupporters
    • by following individual users, authors  you are likely to discover more relevant study materials.
  5. Use the Search tools
    • 'Quick & Easy'- not very elegant but the fastest way to find a specific summary of a book or study assistance with a specific course or subject.
