- De hoofdstukken 4 tot en met 6 zijn gewijd aan de schrijffase: het opbouwen van een artikel, correct refereren, citeren en parafraseren, en argumenteren. In hoofdstuk 7 worden de samenhang in een tekst en te vermijden zinsconstructies behandeld. In hoofdstuk 8 komt de wetenschappelijke schrijfstijl aanbod.
- Het negende hoofdstuk van het boek heeft betrekking op de revisie en afwerking van de tekst: grammatica, interpunctie, inhoudelijke verbeteringen en vormvoorschriften. Ter afsluiting van het boek volgen beoordelingscriteria welke docenten kunnen gebruiken bij het nakijken van schrijfopdrachten.
