Psychoanalyse, ontwikkeld door Sigmund Freud, is een theorie en therapievorm die zich richt op het onbewuste als een cruciale factor in menselijk gedrag, emoties en gedachten.
Wat zijn de belangrijke kenmerken van psycho-analyse?

Wat is een praktische toepassing van de psychoanalytische therapie?
Psychoanalytische therapie is een intensieve vorm van therapie die doorgaans één tot meerdere keren per week plaatsvindt over een lange periode. De therapie richt zich op het verkennen van onbewuste conflicten, patronen en verlangens, en het bevorderen van zelfinzicht en persoonlijke groei.
Praktijkvoorbeeld
Een patiënt die worstelt met angst en paniekaanvallen, kan in psychoanalytische therapie ontdekken dat deze symptomen voortkomen uit onopgeloste conflicten uit de kindertijd met een autoritaire ouder. Door deze conflicten te verkennen en te verwerken, kan de patiënt zijn angsten beter begrijpen en leren omgaan met de onderliggende oorzaken.
Kritische kanttekeningen
Psychoanalyse is niet zonder kritiek. Enkele veelgehoorde kritische punten zijn:
- Nadruk op seksualiteit: Sommigen vinden dat Freuds nadruk op seksualiteit te groot is en andere belangrijke factoren in het menselijk gedrag verwaarloost.
