Wat is een onderkennende hypothese?

Praktijkvoorbeeld
Een leerkracht merkt op dat een leerling moeite heeft met lezen. De leerkracht stelt de onderkennende hypothese op dat de leerling mogelijk dyslexie heeft. Vervolgens verzamelt de leerkracht gerichte informatie door observaties, toetsen en gesprekken met de leerling en ouders. Op basis van deze informatie kan de hypothese worden bevestigd of verworpen, waarna de leerkracht passende ondersteuning kan bieden.
Kritische kanttekeningen
- Vooroordelen: Onbewuste vooroordelen kunnen de formulering en toetsing van de hypothese beïnvloeden.
- Onvolledige informatie: De hypothese is gebaseerd op de beschikbare informatie, die mogelijk onvolledig of onjuist is.
- Geen garantie: Het testen van een hypothese garandeert niet dat deze waar of onwaar is.
