- Sd: discriminatieve stimulus: dit signaal of deze situatie voorspelt dat op dit moment met het te stellen gedrag een positief gevolg bereikt kan worden.
- S∆: S-delta: dit voorspelt dat nu met het gedrag geen positief gevolg te bereiken valt.
